Description:
Taking place centuries before the manga, anime, and card game series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories casts you as the ancient Egyptian ancestor of Yugi. Egypt is beset by impending doom, and only by unravelling the mysteries of the Shadow Game and the seven magical totems can you hope to save the land. Forbidden Memories features cards straight from the card game, which you can use to duel and trade with your friends.

Not the Best of Konami's Games 2.5
Synthesis from St. Louis, MO, U.S.A.Oct 25, 2007

THE GOOD:
  • You can choose from 722 cards.
  • Duel with numerous characters from the anime.
  • Duel with a friend or trade with him.
  • Starchips you win in duels can be exchanged for new cards at the Password option. You need to input the card's 8-digit code first.

    THE BAD:

  • The final characters are too difficult to defeat.
  • Most cards are worth 999,999 starchips, even if they aren't powerful.
  • Some cards can only be won by facing a particular duelist a few hundred to a few thousand times.

    SUMMARY:
Welcome to my review of Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories for the Playstation console.

    » Plot

You are the prince of Metropolis, a bustling city full of commoners and duelists, that has a knack for dueling. Everything is going good until the High Mage Heishin attacks the palace wielding some sort of strange magic. It turns out that Heishin has discovered the Millennium Items, and is missing one more. Your mentor, Simon Muran, entrusts you with the Item and keeping it from falling into the wrong hands. As you flee, Heishin catches you and you must duel him for control over the Item. Unfortunately you lose the duel, so you are left with one option - to shatter the Item so Heishin will never have complete power over the world. In doing so, your soul is trapped inside it and you have nothing else to do but wait until someone decides to put it back together again.

5000 years have passed since that day. Yugi Moto, a young duelist that is actually a representation of the prince himself, was able to rebuild the Item, and now is involved in a duelist tournament hosted by Kaiba. With the power of the Millennium Item and the heart of the cards, Yugi defeats all the duelists and manages to send the prince back to his own world. Once back there, it would be up to the prince to finally defeat Heishin once and for all.

    » Audio

The dueling music is pretty solid; not distracting but not that great either. Most of the music in the game will be the same repetitive noise from last time with an exception for a few duels, namely the final ones. The sound effects are also good in the duels. Each monsters' attacks sound just like you would imagine them to be, but they could have been touched up a little. For example, Meteor B. Dragon has a flamethrower-type attack, so you will hear the sound of fire when it attacks.

    » Visuals

The visuals are absolutely stunning for a Playstation game. Detail for the characters, the backgrounds and the cutscenes (if you can call them that) were created with utmost care and design with all kinds of color shades. The artwork from the real-life cards were copied unto Forbidden Memories so if you want to view a certain card but do not own it in real-life, then simply bring it up on the game and see. Konami also made an attempt to bring the cards to life by creating 3-D images for them. I'll admit that most of them were crap but some of them were actually designed well enough to appear life-like.

    » Controls

There are quite a few controls to remember when playing Forbidden Memories, so it would be wise to check over the controls in the instruction booklet first before playing. Once you have gotten them down then it should be a piece of cake. You don't play with the analog sticks at all, so don't bother trying to. Other than that Konami has made good use of the control scheme with the Playstation controller. Basically every button has a use except for the select button.

    » Gameplay Aspects

Now it's time to get down to the good stuff.

  • Dueling

The main point of the game is to become the strongest duelist of all, and to do that you'll need to have the best cards for the job. 722 cards are available to collect and use in the game - 600+ are monsters, the rest are magics and traps. Out of these, you must choose 40 cards to duel with, so plan out a strategy and choose your cards wisely.

When you defeat a person in Campaign mode, then they are available to duel in Free Duel mode. Here you can duel a person without worrying about getting Game Over. You can also duel for starchips and an extra card that may prove useful against later opponents. Each duelist has their own strategies and cards so get out there and prove who has better game.

  • Starchips

Depending on your performance in a duel, you can receive up to 5 starchips per duel. These can be exchanged at the Password option for better cards. In order to get a password, you must have real-life Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards. They have an 8-digit password that can be inputted to get the card in the game.

The amount of starchips needed for a card depends on the power, rarity or both. However, it doesn't really natter because most of the good cards are worth 999,999 starchips and so far no one has reached that amount.

  • Receiving Cards from Duelists

Defeating your opponent not only gives you starchips, but a card as well. The type of card usually depends on the following factors:

  • Duel rank
  • Performance
  • Strength of Duelist
  • Luck

Luck plays a huge role for getting a certain card because even if you duel a perfect game, it won't guarantee you the card you're looking for. Some believe that the game randomly gives you a card which may be the case since none of us seem to get the cards we need. If you are trying to collect every single card in this game then you may go mad even before getting half of them.

    » Final Thoughts

Overall, this game can be frustrating and difficult but addictive at the same time. If you like a good challenge, then I definitely recommend this game for you.

    Great Game 4.2
    Super SpencerMay 28, 2005

    THE GOOD:
The strategies needed in this game is what makes it so addictive. A lot of patience is needed and this makes it more challenging.

    THE BAD:
Stupid things like having to get 999,999 starchips for one card is annoying as it takes you about 2 years to get this many and I mean playing the game everyday for at 7 hours.

    SUMMARY:
Apart from the starchips price and the graphics it is a pretty entertaining game. Stratagey plays a BIG part in this game and if you don't use your head then you will NEVER win. It also requires a LOT of patience so if you haven't got patience don't buy this game. However if you want a challenge and are very patient then this is definitely the game for you. Overall I would recommend this game for any one who wants a challenge not if you just want to complete a game quickly.

    A good game for Yu-Gi-Oh lovers! 4.0
    ForgottonRebel from , , CanadaNov 28, 2004

    THE GOOD:
This game has a lot of good aspects. One of them is that you can enter the 8 didgit code at the bottom of your cards to play your deck in the game. You can also collect all the cards and beat the most popular duelest around. Battle mages, freinds, and enemy's to complete your yu-gi-oh collection.

    THE BAD:
It doesn't have great graphics and it is a little short, but you have so much to do in it.

    SUMMARY:
This is a great game in everyway, I like it because i can build any cutom decks i fell like, for example: An insect deck, or maybe a warrior deck. This game has over 700 cards to collect and play, own with it's own description and story line behind it. This game is The Game Of The Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if you don't have it yet please go out and buy it!

Not the best game, but... 2.5
    Madea Keji from , , Nov 17, 2004

    THE GOOD:
Okay, the variaty of cards is pretty good, and the challange is definitely here. cool credits.

    THE BAD:
The difficulty is to high up for the audience it is aiming for.

    SUMMARY:
I was frustrated last time I did a review and it deserves some credit as a game, also I want to get rid of one of the reviews I posted twice. Now, the game, trust me it is not going to win game of any year, the 3D mode is fugly and overall, more time should have been spent on the game. Some of the cards are overpriced(999,999 starchips!) and the learning curve is highly unforgiving. It is a fuctional game and it is fun(albeit time-consuming and difficult) to collect the cards. Basically a collecters game, if you want a realistic sim of yugioh I would go with a gba one, because ps2 is more of a strategy game sim.(deckmasters, etc.)

    SUMMARY:
your only fair opponets are your first ones before heshin (who is impossible to beat in campign mode, 700 out of 722 cards are useless. Opponets are unfair and have monsters with 3000-4500 attack, these are pulled out at will by the way. no effects. this is a complete insult to everything that YuGiOh is. If you buy this game you would be doing a FAVOR by tearing your arms out of your sockets so you can't play the game. And here's the theme song for the game. (This game sucks!, it really, really sucks, it sucks, it sucks, it sucks)
I would give superman 64, the 2nd most dreaded game in existence a higher score than this piece of garbage. ( I apologize for the insults to garbage and superman 64, which are slightly better than this game.)I gave this game a higher rating than 0 because i can't post other wise

    yu-gi-oh 3.5
    lewis125964 from Milton Keynes, , EnglandAug 28, 2004

    THE GOOD:
Pretty much everything about this game is good. Theres over 700 cards including exodia. You can watch your monsters attack in 3d. Over 30 oppenents from easy to suicidal. Also if you collect the cards in real life the number in the lower left you can use that as a password to get the particular card however the cards cost starchips which you must earn so that makes it not cheating. Everytime you start a new game you will start with a completly new deck.

    THE BAD:
This game is not whithout the gliches so here goes.
The 3d attack mode isnt that good even for a ps. some oppenents will be vvvvvv hard and then you fight them again and they will be pimps???????. You sometimes have to battle the same person over 100 times just to get a card that you need to beat someone.
There is no effects in the game so cards like man eating bug or hane hane are not very good with their attack factor so low

    SUMMARY:
Overall i reccomend that you buy this game if you love yu-gi-oh it has everything that a yu0gi0oh fan needs. However if you are not a yu-gi-oh fan its still worth buying just be sure to brush up on yu-gi-oh first. Also it very cheap only £7.99 i got it for new so pre owned will be about £3 which is a good deal

    Yu-Gi-Oh 3.8
    magnawolf149 from Norfolk, Virginia, Aug 3, 2004

    THE GOOD:
This game has minimal good thing about it.You can watch the monsters in 3D graphics, the field looks interesting, and if you dislike kaiba, dueling him is fun.Being able to duel Duel Master K is like dueling yourself, which is fun.I suggest this game for people under the age of 12.

    THE BAD:
The fusion cards are fustrating, bump this and bump that!I borrowed the game before an it was driving me up the wall, then on the floor, then back up the wall.Your monsters can't use effects which makes it even more fustrating than before,so it makes effect cards like Man Eater Bug useless. If you buy this game, buy it from a use game store!

    SUMMARY:
If you have a fustration level, then this game isn't for you.If you play this game first and buy the real cards after..you won't learn anything except for attacking,LP count and summoning.I would stick to the GBA versions.

    THE GOOD:
the pride of japanese turn-based games.

    THE BAD:
hmm.... well, i guess i can get tedious after a while.

    SUMMARY:
Yu-Gi-Oh games are great, but this one is very different. it's like RPG turn based stragety. it combines the two elements. i like it because it shows the monsters in a whole new way. well, if you've never played any type of Yu-Gi-Oh! game, just don't read thos review. you won't know what I'm talking about. go. now. okay, for all others: it shows the magic cards, monster cards, and trap's activtion and shows it in a very cool way. it lets you explore the world like in am RPGm like in the final fantasy games, but has cards and strategy like in the actual trading card game. it's for natural otakus, like myself. it doesn't matter if you like the Yugioh manga comic, the trading cards game, or the video games, you'l love this games. BTW, i gave it 4.0 out of 5.0 because no ones perfect. Yu-Gi-Oh: forbidden memories is rated E supposedly. i dunno.

One of the best stragety game 4.5
    Red DevilicApr 28, 2004

    THE GOOD:
Has a lot of card 722 . The Guide is very good . You can play it many times but each time you will find new excitement. Sound is perfect

    THE BAD:
The 3D is not good enough . We must duel lot lot lot to have some cards and it doesn't have some nice card like the stories. Besides ,the equip and magic card is not good . All equip card + 500 and magic card is not much. Sound in the Free Duel doesn't change and optine is too simple

    SUMMARY:
I like this game so much although it kills my times terribly. But it's too short and the method to play isn't good as Yugi Power of Chaos .The most fun is collecting the card .When you have all of them, you can realized that beat the game then is too simple and you don't want to play it more. The other diffrence of the game with other game is you always feel interesting
when you duel a lot with someone to get a card
I want to have some Yu-gi game that has the playing of POC , and has a lot of peple to duel like FM

    Yu-gi-no 2.0
    exsoldierCloudStrife from , , GermanyFeb 18, 2004

    THE GOOD:
      -Cards
-Fun levels and can ceep me entertained

    THE BAD:

      -The cards that are avalible
      -The buying system

    SUMMARY:
Dispite the fact that Yu-gi-oh is cool, and I was a big fan, this game did not full fill my expectations. The system in witch you had to buy cards was very anoying, you get maby five or six coins, for a match if you do good, but no all the good cards are over one million, and you couldn't get unless you cheated, the cards you have and get, did not keep up with your aponints, meaning you had cards with less that 2400 BT, and your facing down somthing with mutch more than that, the only thing you can do is fuse, witch can be anoying, concidering you have to have certin cards witch can take for ever. The entire system was just anoying.

Now this was just my opinion so dont get mad at me.

    The Best Ever 5.0
Andre from Varginha, MG, BrazilFeb 2, 2004

    THE GOOD:
This game rocks. 722 cards. You´ll have to duel a lot to see all of them. You think it will be easy? Just get into this game.

    THE BAD:
    >I miss in this game some monsters like Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon and Dark Sage.
    >It's almost impossible you buy a card with the cost of 99,999 starchips as you receive just 5 starchips (max) per duel.

    SUMMARY:
This forum is perfect for FM, everything you need for this game, it´s perfect, the sections and there're good moderators that control the threads. The Guides are VERY good, for beginners and experts. No other place for FM players.

That one who don´t like the sound or graphic. The sound, turn off. The graphic, what more you need for a card game.

I´m waiting for more Yugioh games for ps.

Don´t miss the opportunity of playing this game. You'll look for fusions to make powerfull monsters, you look desesperated for a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Traps and Magics cards. Just try to get them all. I challenge you.

    THE GOOD:
    every thing

    THE BAD:
nothing except the 3d bit bu twho cares

    SUMMARY:
what a game theres hundreds of cards to collect theres people u can play even ur mates or family as long as they have a save for the game. but i am telling u it aint easy. the players in it are stunning the graphics are great but the 3d bit is no that good but nobody really uses that bit in the game. the first bit ur yami yugi then once u have done everything u turn into YU-GI-OH and guess who is there jono.well the best bit in it is versing pegasus in it he is hard but when u get good cards u will beat him with out a doubt. its a cheap and i am happy with it. so if u have £20.00 then i would advise u to get it.but if u have got it already and think what a crappy game then think again man this game is da bomb u should freaking get it.

    devil hunterOct 28, 2003

    THE GOOD:
its amazing game. the characters details and every thing is good.

    THE BAD:
the graphics are not that good.

    SUMMARY:
what a game, theres hundreds of cards to collect and if u have a mate or someone u know that have a ps1 memory card and they have started a new game, then why not duel them or trade them. u can buy cards with ur star chips if u have enough. the game is not that dear its only £20.00 in nearly every game shop. theres a whole load of cards to collect in this game. u start off as yami yu gi then after a while (if u do it right)then u become yu-gi-oh in a contest ur first opponent is rex raptor if u have card stronger than 1300 attack then u will win easly against him. the second one is weevil he is a pain. if u want to get cards go to free duel and duel a lot of people and u will get good cards.

    Forbidden Memories 4.5
    Archangel from Winnipeg, , CanadaOct 11, 2003

    THE GOOD:
I like the concept of the game. Going from ancient times to early times, or vice versa.

The card battle system was well thought of, and the 3D version of it was a really cool idea!

    THE BAD:
The graphics weren't that good, and the 3D monsters were horribly made.

I didn't like how the ending people had like 3 of the strongest cards. That was really annoying!

    SUMMARY:
Overall this game is OK. I give it a 4 because of the graphics, and the 3D monsters were horrible. Also with the ending people having impossibly hard cards.

I hated trying to get new cards seeing as they were so hard to get, and you had to battle so many times to get only one card.

The only good things are that I liked the concept of it, and the battle system was well thought out. Also, going from Ancient Egypt to Real World, then back to Ancient Egypt was really cool. ^^

Best Playstation game ever owned. 4.0
Winged Dragon of Ra from Flume, , Second EarthOct 5, 2003

    THE GOOD:
good in almost every way, considering this game is 7 years old, and the added "library mode"

    THE BAD:
too hard to get good cards, and the rituals is hard to make

    SUMMARY:
I would give a 4.5 if they had one but... The game has pretty good graphics for a seven year old game. The monsters and magic/trap cards are easy to play. There are the library mode, which is good with all the monster you own. You can even visit it. The magic are better than the shows, and the fusion monster's can be summoned directly without the fusion, and you can make different cards with many different cards as the fusion. The characters are ranged from high to low, and up to 30 characters. Duel master k teaches you how to fuse, making your deck stronger than the rest. I would say that this game should be for any Yugioh fan, if you have a PSX.

    Yu-Gi-Oh!Forbidden Memories 4.0
teodortenchev from Stara Zagora, , BulgariaSep 4, 2003

    THE GOOD:
There is a great number of cards(over 700).There are a lot of duelists and different places. There is a trade mode and also a 2-player duel. You can see the monsters from the cards in 3-D Battle Mode. You can buy cards(if you have the passwords for them,of course). There is a free duel mode.

    THE BAD:
You don't receive enough starchips after the duels(only 5 for S-Rank).You have to defeat the duelists too many times in order to win good cards from them. You cannot trade cards with other duelists.Strong cards cost too much(999'999).You cannot walk freely. You just have to make decisions.Everytime you're defeated you have to start again from your last save...

    SUMMARY:
Although the game was made in the 1996,it is not bad at all.In fact,it is one of the most interesting games I have ever had for my Play Station. The gameplay may not be very good but collecting different cards is really a great fun.You will surely feel great after you defeat your first opponent. It would be great if only the game was a little longer.Anyway it will cost you a lot of time to get all the cards.I have played it for two months and I still have only about 400 different cards...(1010 all together)

    Xerepolis from , , EdenAug 23, 2003

    THE GOOD:
It has many multiple character to duel, can trade cards with other peeps, buy cards, duel for cards and
a great varitity of cards to make a powerfull deck!
It has over 700 cards to duel, trade and buy for so it kept me busy!!!!

    THE BAD:
It does not have multiple ending, there is no in game cheats, the cards are expensive and no effect or flip monsters.

    SUMMARY:
This is a great stradegy game to play if you want a challenge.

The 3-d graffics are great and there is multiple attacks for each monster.

This game will live you breathless when you play the game.

This game is one of my favorite stradegy games.!!

Dueling for rare cards is exciting and will give you a good sensation when you get the rare card!!!

I will give it 4 thumbs up. (including my feet thumbs!)

    THE GOOD:
    1. That you can gain more cards as you go along.
    2. You can actualy be in the past and future.

    THE BAD:
    1. It doesn't realy follow the story.
    2. you can actualy walk around and find cards.
3.You dont actualy now if the main villan Henish(however you spell it) is the realy bad guy in the past.

    SUMMARY:
The game pretty cool i just dont like all the starchips gainging for must of the cards its just stupid. They cost way to much.Must people dont get to play that often and may never get there with out cheats. The characters are cool looking and all but the 3D graphics needed more work. Its also a short game once you get into it and you may never get the cards you want. The game also doesn't have all the cards that had been made in that time period either in the show or real life( but it did have some new ones).

    Almost Perfect 4.0
Saint Malice from Danville, CA, United StatesAug 8, 2003

    THE GOOD:
This game kicks ass! You won't be tired of it for months! There are a lot of things you need to do to complete it, and even then, it'll take you a while to get ALL the cards, but once you accomplish this task, you'll feel very good with yourself. Personally, I enjoyed this game A LOT-and from time to time, I still play it. Once you get some of the most powerful cards-such as Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon-you'll just want to kick everyone's a$$!

    THE BAD:
Graphics aren't that great...but you can't really expect them to be incredible since the game is for Playstation.

Also, the game will sometimes freeze in the middle of a VERY important battle, and this will suck a lot. The game also gets EXTREMELY hard by the end, and there are almost no saving spots, however, the cards you will obtain will be very rare-so it's all good. Other than these lil details, the game is sweeet.

    SUMMARY:
The game is PHAT! What can I say, it would get a Perfect score if it wasn't for those minor setbacks, but I really recommend buying it if you're a Yu-gi-oh fan.

    Exodia_55 from , , Jul 30, 2003

    THE GOOD:
The cards, the graphics, the monsters....plus whooping your opponents....honest they are excellently easy! Nitemare is bad,and maybe Heishen 1st 2nd and 3rd...

    THE BAD:
Having to pay for cards! Bad idea!

    SUMMARY:
Well, the game is excellent, the bad thing is having to buy cards. Ive seen loads of Yu-Gi-Oh games where you DONT pay for cards, but apart from that, the best thing is the opponents are soooo easy! I mean, the only bad one to beat is Heishen, and maybe Nitemare! They make the high mages look like little school girls! The mage soldier is excellent to face,i dueled him 85 times, and on the 47th no well it dont matter,i got the Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon! Tthe best card i have right now is the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, thanks to Nitemare! My deck is mostly like Yugi's,Dark Magicians,Summoned Skulls,Mammoth Graveyards,Exodia pieces,on and on...

    helpful fusions! 3.0
    YuGiOh_MasterDuelist from , , Jun 4, 2003

    THE GOOD:
it submits a challenge to most people if you don't use any cheats.

    THE BAD:
the gameplan wasn't thought out well.

    SUMMARY:
This game is so-and-so but not that good overall.it has to many negative attributes about it.It's still fun to play though just to pass time or relax.Being new to this I don't know if this is too much info but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

here are som fusions that I know work:

    Dragon(1600atk or higher)+Thunder=Twin-Headed Thunder D
Dragon(1500atk or lower)+Thunder+Thunder(each has to be 1500atk or lower as well)=Twin-Headed Thunder
Red Eyes Black Dragon+Summond Skull=Red Eyes Black Skull Dragon

Also if anyone knows how to use Ritual cards tell me pleaze!!!

if your a cheating person or just like to experiment, here's one for you:

have 3 memory cards and name them 1 2 and 3.Insert memory card 1 and 2 in the slots provided and go to thew playstation manager(just push "open" and "reset" and you'll be there). Now go to copy and copy the game from memory card 1 to memory card 2.After that start a new game on memory card 3(make sure it's with a different name then on memory card 1)and save it.Then trade to cards that you want to have duplicated from memory card 2 to memory card 3.When your done take out memory card 2 and insert memory card 1.trade what you got from memory card 3 to memory card 1 and if you did it right you should have duplicated the card(s).

This one works for sure because I do this cheat all the time and now i have 3 Summond Skulls, Perfectly Ultimate Great Moths, Meteor B. Dragon, plus alot more.

Thanks for you time and happy game playing!

    Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories 4.0
    Meteor_White_Dragon from Morriston, Swansea, Jun 4, 2003

    THE GOOD:
    Everything

    THE BAD:
    The critics

    SUMMARY:
First of all I would like to clear a bit of information about the cost of certain rare cards.
    E.G. 999,999 starchip cards.
    I agree with Konami.
The reason is good if you were able to get every card easily then there would be no point to the game. since it would be to easy.
Now i'm going to ask every reader of this review to think to the TV series back to the episode of Setos virtual machine which allowed you to go into the dueling game. The episode where Seto gets trapped by his corporate employees.
Do you remember when Joey just received 5 points for defeating the three zombies. Then later when he saw the card stall where he noticed a card he liked but the cost was over 2000 points for the card. The card was roughly 2000/2000 in atk and def.

Now think into the Computer Game.

A Twin Headed Thunder Dragon Costs 1900 starchips. and is much stronger than the card in the tv series and this card is the most expensive card in the game without the 999,999 starchips max cards.

So the computer game itself is more lenient than the Tv series.
    Here comes the figures.

there are 722 cards. (that I know of)
over 600 of them are monster cards and the rest are magic cards. But I wont to focus now on monster card costs. out of the 722 cards only 120(roughly) are 999,999 starchips in price. and only 60-80(roughly) are monster cards. So that means that there are 600 cards(roughly) which cost 1900 or less. (there are only two cards which cost more than 1000 excluding the 999,999 cards these are Twin Headed Thunder Dragon 2800/2100 which costs 1900 starchips. And Seiyaryu 2500/2300 which costs 1700 starchips) All the other cards cost 1000 starchips or less (excluding the 999,999 starchip cards).

So that means about 600 cards cost 1000 or less.
thats 600 out of 722 roughly are cheap and then there are the readers/gamers who want the remaining 120(roughly) to be lowered in price to the same as the others.
    How selfish can you get.
(There are about 6 cards which cost 20,000 to 50,000)
But these cards can be easily gained at the start of the game in your starter set. Not Megamorph or Final Flame, Soul of the pure) But then that still means there are 120 cards which have to be earned not bought.

So if you can't be bothered to win them then either sell the computer game or make it become a nice dust collector at the back of your cupboard.

I myself have found a way of never having to lose 1 starchip a way to keep all your starchips that you have won and thats how I have attained all the cards costing 1900 or less starchips. Also with this smart thought up idea I card duplicate or triplicate any card I have in my possession.

I have 3 Twin headed thunder dragons, 3 Seiyaryus, 3 Raigekis, 3 Red medicines, 3 Invisable Wires, 3 of every landscape, (3 of every magio card, Ritual card, Trap card, equip card That I have won or bought.)

You may be wondering how I have accomplished this amazing predicament. The answer is simple.

First go on the internet and go to Gamefaqs and save a copy of any FAQ with a listing of cards and their codes.
Second Print them out for quick reference.
Third Search or buy three or four Memory Cards( You need at least 3 and a good computer store will sell them for £2.99 (I think thats - ) I don't know exacly since I live in G Britain.
Fourth choose one memory card as your main card which contains your primary Save(The one you want to store all the cards in)
Fifth Choose a Card to be a link. You must use this card to save a absolutely new game with a different duelling name.
Sixth that leaves you with two blank memory cards to transfer or one if you chose to use three memory cards only. (Now follow closely as this is an example
Say you have a Bright Castle Card you want to triplicate (or duplicate if you only have Three Memory cards) You first make sure that on your main card you don't put that card into your deck. Leave it out. Then you save your game and turn of your playstation. Then you load up your playstion with the lid open. Then copy the save off your main card to the one or two empty cards. (You must understand that Konami were smart in making it impossible to trade with the same duellist code. however do you remember the link Memory card with the different Duelling name. That is the key to duplicating and triplicating.)
Seventh Now close the lid leaving a one of the copied memory cards in slot one and the link memory card in slot two. Now go to the trade menu. Select the Bright Castle from the first memory card and put it in the link memory card (You dont have to send a card from the link memory card to the copy card since there are 40 cards in the deck of the link card and it doesn't matter if there are no cards in stock.)
Eighth there should now be only 1 card in the linked card which should be the Bright Castle card. It doesn't matter about the copy card any more since the card you wont is in the link card. Now go back to the main menu.
Ninth Now if you had Four memory cards at the beginning you can remove the first copy card and put in the second copy card into the first slot and repeat the procedure of moving another Bright Castle To The Link card. (remember not to move the Bright Castle Already there)
Tenth Now replace the copy card with the main card and go back to the Trade menu (You should notice that the main card still has the original Bright Castle Card. And Now you can transfer the linked Cards Bright Castle(s) to the main card and now you have 3 Bright Castle Cards in Your Main Card.
Then you can repeat the procedure endlessly to get 3 of every card. And as any person who uses alot of the same card goes. The maximum of each card you can put into the deck is 3 so 3 of each card is all you need.

Eleventh You may remember when I said about not having to spend any of your Starchips which is the same. When you copy the memory cards at the beginning you copy the starchip total allowing you to spend the starchips on the copy cards so you can buy them and transfer to the link card then to the main card and then start the procedure of duplicating.
And after all that you will have 3 of each card and also you will keep all of you starchips which allows you to keep adding and adding to the total to get more expensive cards.
And then after a long time you will eventually gain 999,999 starchips and then you can get all the cards if you wish.

Now there should not be any more reasons to ask for cheats to get 999,999 starchips.

    Thankyou, Thankyou.

    YU-GI-OH ROCKS FULL STOP 4.5
    Red_eyes_black_drago from telford, shropshire, May 31, 2003

    THE GOOD:
Nearly everything, the fusions come by the many the computer AI can be better than real life and the amount of cards is stunning! the graphics are pretty and bright (dont play in the dark for eye reasons!)

    THE BAD:
the graphics are a bit on the bad side and the music is rubbish (sept for the duel with Kaiba)

    SUMMARY:
yu-gi-oh forbidden memories... the best game on the playstation to date? well maybe not but it comes damn close to the likes of metal gear solid, final fantasy and other gamers like such, the game is massive and very taxing.. the duels can seem very against you 7/10 of the time! the AI can over tax you sometimes and you could end up staring at your playstation looking for a brain in it... the graphics are pretty but have no real animation to them.. the just side scroll onto the screen and start talking, but with no voice unfourtanatly! the sound is rubbish just bleeps and midis, but with variations for different battles and people. overall the graphics and sound doesent spoil it there is alot of cool parts and is a classic game.
    Graphics:7/10
    Sound: 5/10
    Gameplay:9/10
    Lifespan:10/10
    Total:9.5/10

    THE GOOD:
You don't need the Polymerisation Card to fuse. There are hundreds of fusion combinations. You have a guardian star which adds to the power boost that magic cards already give you.

    THE BAD:
It's almost impossible to 999,999 starchips. The graphics suck. But then again it's PS One so you have to expect it. Most of the effect monsters can't use their effects. The 3D fight scenes don't change to different attcks.

    Tips

Beat Jono and Teana contiously in Free Duel to get easy starchips. Winning againt the Mage Soldier sometimes will get you good cards (I got Mechalinacher ATK1850 DEF800).

Once you get enough starchips, get some strong monsters in your deck.

To 3D duel, attack an enemy monster using [] (square) instead of X.

If you have more than one memory card, start a new game and then you can trade cards from that game to any other games. Unfortunately, you cant trade starchips, as we all probably wish we could.

Here are some cards that you should get in your deck, especially if youre stuck on a hard opponent:

Fuse Time Wizard+Embroyinic Beast= Summoned Skull, then use the field card Yami, use Horn of the Unicorn, and use Sword of Dark Destruction, making his ATK around 4000! That'll be enough to beat kaibas Blue Eyes! You probably realize its hard to get a combo like that at a time, but I've done it!

Heres a little trick I like to call "bait." If your opponent keeps putting his monsters in defense mode, (like Yami Bakura which is extremely annoying) place one of your weaker monsters (ATK around 1000) to make him attack it. You will lose life points, but so will your opponent when you attack with a stronger monster.

To make your opponent put a card in defense mode, put one of your cards in face-down defense mode.

Anyway, you should get the game if you're a hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh fan. If you're not, Duelist of the Roses is better (I got this WAY before DOTR came out).

    Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memorries 3.8
    UnknowGuy from , NE, USMar 28, 2003

    THE GOOD:
The 3-D graphics look good enough. The story is good by how it lead from one world to another. The music sound good and when you win the game, there are some drawing of monsters. It look very cool.

    THE BAD:
There wasnt any movement in the game. All you can see are the words come out on the screen and the people stand there like statues. The power up are weak, too. They should have make it a little more like real cards game.

    SUMMARY:
I suggest you should buy this game. It should be a small little goal for you. Plust if u dont have anything to do, play this game would be a great thing. You also have to find all 722 cards anyway

    great game!!! 3.0
Martín Endara from EcuadorFeb 21, 2003

    THE GOOD:
    Almost infinite possibilities!

    THE BAD:
Hard to get the best cards in the game without cheating, unlimited starchips, forget it, 2 player game sucks!, graphics should be better.

    SUMMARY:
A great game for killing time , How to get started, well duel a lot in free duel mode, so you can earn new cards and starchips, duel jono 1st, for the magic wizard in order to fuse any dragon with atk lower than 2400 to get 1000 year dragon, you should duel him for this card about 25 times. As soon as you have 200 starchips, buy millenium shield def 3000, look for the code over the internet or you can buy for the same prize labyrinth wall and then with an extra 30 starchips you can buy the labyrinth booster so you en up with a 3500 def and in wasteland field 4000 almost unbeatable, then also for only 80 starchips look for the code to buy jirai gumo a fantastic 2200 atk spider that could be of help while you are at the beginning of the game, try to keep in your deck many traps or magic cards, duel bakura in tec mode for that, or you can start as many games as you wish in different memory cards and then exchange them into your deck.(trade)

also duel jono second for red eye black dragon atk 2400 he gave me two of them in only 5 duels.

Duel a lot with master K he uses only the same cards you have so, you will learn how to fuse your own cards you damn beginner!!

Im the best in the mountain field, it depends on how was your game and what cards do you have, be aware of wich is your strong field to produce a great deck, mountain is only for thunder, winged beasts and dragons, strong fussions?? sure
winged beasts over 1500 atk+ pyro =crimson sunbird 2300 atk, in mountain field 2800 atk.
    any dragon+time wizard= 1000 years dragon atk 2400
any dragon over 1500 atk + thunder =thunder dragon 2800 atk, in mountain 3300 atk.
    animal+female = nekogal atk 1900
    animal+pyro = flame cerebrus atk 2100
feamle + stone = mystical sand atk 2100
dragon + plant = b. dragon jungle king atk 2100
    dragon+ stone = stone d atk 2000 def 2300

fiend + job changed mirror =summoned skull atk 2500
reptile + clown zombie = soul hunter atk 2200
    spellcaster+ thunder+time wizard kaminari attack 1900 atk
warrior+ the judgemnet hand = judge man atk 2200
monsturtle + spellcaster = 30,000 year old turtle 2600 def
need better fussions? get better cards!!!

remember, duel a lot, prepare well your deck, think smart, get at least five magic cards a couple of equip and 3 traps depends on you cards and be safe.

    peace

    THE BAD:
even when you get the 999,999 star chips you can not buy black luster soldier , zera the mant , super war lion , freind mirror, ultmate blue eye dragon, and a lot others cards from # 699-722. the only way to gets thoses card is to play in free duel playstation 1 game. and play each person 20 times with out stopping. and beat them with using no more than 4-6 cards at the most. then you will get good cards. but it takes forever.

    SUMMARY:
so in review getting the code for 999,999 star chips is not all that it is cracked up to be the strongest card that you can buy is blue eye white dragon 3000/2500 or metalzoa 3000/2300. the rest of the stronger ones you have to combined them using ritual cards. or just play in free duel until you win them. my strongest card is the blue-eye ultmate dragon 4500/3800. that you have to win it you can't buy. also if you get all 5 vards to make exodia the forbidden like me . if you get all 5 cards in your hand you win automaticly. so just stay in free duel. and keep on playing and in time you will get the cards that you need. good luck

    SUMMARY:
This game is awesome for all of you guys who really like Yu-Gi-Oh stuff, and it has really cool duel monsters, this game is challenging and it has cool duelists, but the battles can be very boring, but this game is very good.

    THE GOOD:
The Cards rock,It keeps you thinking and most of all It's just like the T.V. show

    THE BAD:
The cards cost way to much, i mean the good ones cost 999,999 star chips and i only have 1471

    SUMMARY:
Be careful fellow deulists this game is ADDICTIVE! believe me.

If anyone else in BONNYRIGG has this game and the Dark Magician then E-Mail me mabye we could trade or duel.

Trust me there is no UNLIMITED STARCHIPS cheat.
If anyone has the Meteor Black Dragon to power it up use: Dragon Treasure
    Bright Castle
    Salamandra
    Megamorph
That should help you beat the game

It's Cool Guy again with some cool tips. 5.0
Cool Guy from ColchesterFeb 1, 2003

    THE GOOD:
You guys get some cool tips.

    THE BAD:
    I need your help.

    SUMMARY:
    Here are some fusions:

To Make Twin Headed Thunder Dragon (2800/2100):

    Dragon (1600 or more)+Thunder

    Thunder Dragon+Dragon

    Dragon (Less than 1600)+Thunder+Dragon

    Dragon (Less than 1600)+Thunder+Thunder

    More fusions:

    Dragon+Thunder=Thunder Dragon (1600/????)

    Dragon+Stone=Stone Dragon (2000/2300)

    Dragon+Plant=B. Dragon Jungle King (2100/1700)

    Fairy+Rock=Mystical Sand (2100/1700)

Red Eyes Black Dragon+Meteor Dragon=Meteor Black Dragon (3500/2000)

Red Eyes Black Dragon + Summoned Skull=Black Skull Dragon (3200/2500)

    Dragon+Time Wizard=Thousand Dragon (2400/2000)

Gaia The Feirce Knight+Curse Of Dragon= Gaia The Dragon Champion.

To get Meteor Black Dragon (3500/2000) Beat the Low Meadow Mage in Free Duel, It takes patience, I had to beat him 65 times before he would cough up a Meteor Black Dragon. I also hear you can get Meteor Black Dragon from Jono 2nd and Heshnin #1.
And I hear you can get Gate Guardian from High Mage Kepura (High Meadow Mage).

Get a Dragon Capture Jar, Your'l need it against Seto 3rd. It destroys all opponents Dragon Monsters on the field at that time so use it when he plays Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and Meteor Black Dragon.

Help:Can some body tell me what the name is of that card that Heshnin 2nd uses to Give Gate Guardian an extra 1000 attack and defense?

P.S.This may disappoint some peaple but it will also save them alot of time, there is NO exsisting cheat for Infinite starchips without using a Gameshark.

    Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories 3.0
    David40 from , , Jan 28, 2003

    THE GOOD:
That you can get up to 722 cards and you can also see them in 3-D.And it also has some of the best Yu-Gi-Oh duelists around in it.

    THE BAD:
The Graphics can use alot of work on them. And you need Rituals sometimes to summon a really strong card onto the fieled.

    SUMMARY:
This game is kind of good. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the graphics.I liked everything else about it though.
